Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen are the 3 BEST books on this planet! Seriously, read them - strong, strong recommendation from me. I know the drawing's not accurate to the text, but I didn't see the text until I'd already drawn it XP. I also chose to leave the colours in shades of grey bar the blood, to reflect the greyness of the river of death. We choose photomanipulations that have made an impression on us from the past week. We do not base our choices on preference or friendships and we have never featured ourselves. I love the dark, myserious atmosphere and the shading. Her hair looks super awesome, and so does her facial expression it is very expressive has a lot of emotion.
I also love the pose and her clothing design, the pencil work looks amazing.

I was quite pleased wit how it came out in the end, apart from a few horrific smudges which wouldn't rub out on, of all places, her face -_-" I "magically" got rid of most of it, but there's still a blotch on her right cheek </perfectionist>
